The legend of King Laurin and his rose garden is a popular folktale from the Tyrol region of the Alps. According to the legend, King Laurin was a powerful ruler who owned a magnificent rose garden in the mountains. He was so proud of his garden that he cast a spell on it, making it invisible during the day and only visible at night. However, a brave knight named Dietrich von Bern managed to sneak into the garden and steal a rose for his beloved. This angered King Laurin, leading to a fierce battle between the two. Eventually, King Laurin was defeated, and as punishment, he was forced to make his rose garden visible during the day. **

The rose garden at Humboldthain in Berlin is closed in the winter because the roses are not in bloom during this time. The garden is designed to showcase the beauty of the roses, and visitors would not be able to fully appreciate the garden's purpose during the winter months. Additionally, the cold weather and potential frost could damage the delicate rose plants, so it is best to keep the garden closed to protect the plants. **

The petals of the Damask rose are carefully distilled to extract the essential oils, resulting in a high-quality rose water that is widely used in cooking, skincare, and aromatherapy. **

It ultimately depends on the individual's preferences and circumstances. Some people may prefer receiving a rose as a thoughtful and romantic gesture, while others may prioritize receiving money for practical reasons. Both have their own symbolic and practical value, so the choice between the two would depend on the person's personal preferences and current needs. **

Rose mushroom, also known as rose galls, are abnormal growths on rose plants caused by insects or mites. These growths can resemble mushrooms in appearance but are not actual fungi. On the other hand, rose disease refers to various fungal, bacterial, or viral infections that can affect rose plants, causing symptoms such as discoloration, wilting, or deformities. While rose mushroom is a specific type of abnormal growth, rose disease encompasses a broader range of issues caused by pathogens. **
